Scott Edwards - IT Manager

After playing professional soccer in the UK, Scott returned to South Africa in 1986 where he studied computer and production courses. He kicked off his career at Armscor (Sandock Austral) in Gauteng as a materials planner. He obtained a Certification in Production and Inventory Management through SAPICS and relocated to Cape Town to work as materials controller at Panasonic, after which he was appointed as Purchasing Manager for USABCO, a company responsible for manufacturing Addis products for chief retailers such as Pick ‘n Pay and Checkers.

He joined Netafim in 1999 into what seemed like a fantastic opportunity to branch into a more IT-related field, with the company adopting more technical ERP systems at the time.

Since then, he has been responsible for planning and implementing all IT-related infrastructure as well as streamlining all applications and ERP systems to corporate standards.

His interests lie in continually improving the Netafim network and IT infrastructure according to fast-changing world trends to meet current global standards.

He believes that the fourth industrial revolution will bring about more innovation, talent and resilience within the irrigation landscape and assist in making tasks that have previously seemed impossible, possible.
