Hein is a Chartered Accountant who started his career at Shoprite Holdings Ltd while completing his articles. During his 7 years with the Shoprite Group, he occupied positions in the group finance team as well as the position of Deputy Divisional Financial Manager for the Western Cape division. Other career opportunities followed at the Clicks Group Ltd and at the largest privately-owned salt mining processor in South Africa, Saltor Group, where he held the position of Group Finance Manager for four years.
His journey at Netafim began in July 2017 when he was appointed as Finance Manager for the GBU South Africa and SADC. Hein has always had a passion for the agriculture sector and for businesses that operate within this sector. No economy can grow or flourish without a strong agriculture sector at its core. To be associated with the Netafim brand and family is a great privilege but also a big responsibility, as we look to the future for innovative and creative solutions to ensure sustainable agriculture for the benefit of future generations.
Hein is passionate about the future and the methods that Netafim will develop to increase global food security. He believes that the irrigation landscape will become much more automated and easier to operate as we move into the digital era, the fourth industrial revolution and artificial intelligence.
